Hello and welcome to my personal website! I own a digital media business (and was previously a software developer), and I’m based in South Wales, UK.
I aim to post the occasional useful ‘blog post’ to this website, as well as give some information on projects and websites I have worked on over the years.
I started making websites when I was 10 or 11 years old, initially using Microsoft FrontPage before teaching myself HTML, PHP, Javascript and CSS (etc) and ‘hand coding’ my websites instead.
I then learnt Java in University and I worked commercially as a ‘server side’ software developer for a decade (i.e. writing backend software). I’ve had quite a lot of experience over the years with the Java and the Spring framework (working with web apps, REST APIs and microservices), although I have also worked professionally and personally with PHP, Python and more.
I then got burnt out, and launched a digital media business. Across a number of websites and YouTube channel, we get millions of visits/views each year.
Since this is my personal site, here’s a totally-not-staged photo of me:
Some side projects that I have worked on over the years includes:
- 2001 – 2009: Tau Online
- 2007 – 2009: A beta tester for the PHP/MySQL message board software Simple Machines Forum
- 2009 – 2010: Devoted Hosting, a shared and reseller hosting service I created (and later sold).
- 2013 – 2015: Plagiarism Guard
- 2018 – present: a few informational websites, along with some small Github projects including a Neo4j cypher query formatter.
