Domains

'Domaining' isn't a commonly heard term. It basically refers to the acquisition, monetisation and sale of internet domain names. Whilst this sounds a strange profession, it's one which is growing in popularity and is something that many, many people are currently interested in today. As an example, the domain Slots.com sold on the 2nd of June 2010 for $5,500,000! The record for the largest sum for a domain name to be bought is well over $10,000,000. Naturally I've never owned a domain worth anything as much as these, although I have built up a pretty good portfolio over the years nonetheless.

LLLL.com domains

LLLL.com domains - ones which contain four letters in total - are popular since they are short (hence they are easy/quick to type in, and are also easy to remember), and they're growing in popularity (hence value) all the time. My most valuable LLLL.coms are listed below:

• Amms.com - this is perhaps my most valuable domain overall. Whilst it's not a word, it's a high end LLLL.com domain since it looks good, is short and is also easy to pronounce and remember.
• FFIF.com - this is also a gem, considering that it contains 75% of the same letters! It's also pronounceable, increasing its value considerably. There are 456,976 different LLLL.coms, but only a fraction of them contain just two different letters!
• HSDH.com - this contains all 'premium quality' letters, and it's also been registered for over 12 years - making this an elder in domaining terms!
• Eoar.com - this is a great looking name which is easy to pronounce and remember.
• Ghao.com - as with Eoar.com, Ghao.com is a great looking name which is also easy to pronounce.
• Rhah.com - another great looking and easy to pronounce domain
• TTTF.com - a LLLL.com domain with three letters all the same (and in a row) are quite rare to come by (there's just 26x26x2 = 1,352 LLLL.coms of this type out there!)

LLL.net domains

I currently own 3 LLL.net domains. Due to fact that there are only 17,576 LLL.net domains out there - and the fact that .net is the second most popular domain extension - LLL.net domains are fairly popular.

• FEQ.net - pronounceable and looks good.
• YGF.net - an acronym for Your GirlFriend, thus making this a desirable domain.
• XKE.net - nothing too special about this one, but again there aren't many three letter .net domains out there.

Keyword Domains

Keyword domains are domains which contain desirable/highly searched keywords (hence making them good for web development, etc). Below is a short list of some of my best keyword domains:
